The Division of Cardiology at Albany Medical College is seeking a new Director of Electrophysiology. This leadership opportunity includes the Directorship of the Electrophysiology Lab at the Albany Medical Center Hospital. The ideal candidate will: •have 5 to 10 years of clinical experience, with a proven track record of personal excellence in all aspects of clinical electrophysiology, including atrial fibrillation ablation procedures and device implantation techniques •demonstrate the maturity and perspective required to balance the clinical, educational and financial goals of an academic medical center •be a proven educator, possessing the commitment and skills required to achieve our goals for excellence in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education, including the development of an electrophysiology fellowship •support our academic mission through the design and execution of clinical and translational research studies •employ a rigorous structure of quality assurance and quality improvement techniques towards the goal of refining evidence-based practices on our electrophysiology service and in our EP laboratory •possess the leadership and management competencies required to organize our electrophysiology laboratory and clinical service and lead them to a position of regional prominence. Albany Medical College and Albany Medical Center Hospital continue to enjoy clinical and financial success despite the many challenges currently facing academic health sciences centers. We are the only tertiary academic medical center in our region. Our cardiology service boasts 2 new electrophysiology laboratories and a thriving cardiology fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship.
